"My name is Cyrille Aron. I am a young artist based in Brussels. I use and explore different mediums and techniques : painting, drawing, photography, illustration and comic books. I have a master’s degree in Comics and Publishing from the Superior school of arts Saint-Luc Bruxelles. I have published some comic books in small runs and so far I have been mostly working as an illustrator for books, companies, events and particulars. Recently I got seriously involved in painting and I have really enjoyed it. I have technically learned to paint as an autodidact but I rely on my artistic background which goes back a long way. A friend introduced me to the art of custom boards and it was a revelation for me. I used to skate as a teenager and have always felt inspired by the aesthetic of the boards. The possibility to approach it in as a form of contemporary art and self expression really excited me. I use old and classical paintings references in my work which creates a bold contrast with the modern and utility shape of the boards."
