"My name is Célia, under the artist name LIACE. Passionate about drawings since I was a child, after my college years, I left for ten years of studies in the graphic design world, where I learned how to design print and web communication for companies.. In 2017 I stopped my studies, in October 2018 I decided to set myself up as a micro-entrepreneur as a graphic designer and illustrator, I also decided to create and register my brand "LIACE". For years I have been looking for my own illustrator identity, one that would easily recognize my art Admiring the peoples and ethnic groups of the world around us, di erent skin colors, clothing traditions, hairstyles ... I then decided to work around portraits characters in a very geometric style, which could refer to African masks and Mayan culture. I mainly do all of my work on a computer, using Illustrator vector software, which allows me to have a "clean" result with clear areas of color. But I also really like working by hand, painting or other types of mediums. His portraits have the particularity of having their eyes closed, which brings a calm, zen and soo- thing side to the people who look at them. They largely own headdresses that I take inspiration from photos of portrait photographers or reporters or just headdresses that are out of my own imagination.
I love dreadlocks, which is why the majority of my characters have them. I find that dreads add style and character to portraits. It is hair that can easily come to life through illustration. Also loving nature, I always try to integrate it into my creations. I am passionate about music, in particular Reggae Music and Dub these musical universes make me travel, they have helped a lot in a little more di cult times and help me and inspire me a lot today. My latest creations revolve around these universes which allows to diversify my portraits and to stage them.
I find that knowing how to draw remains a chance, that's why I try, thanks to my art, to send messages and support important causes that are close to my heart, such as: "Pink October" (the fight against breast cancer), "GAIA" (protection of our environment and our planet, "Pray for the Amazon" / "Pray for Australia" (in memory of the large fires that have caused enormous environmental damage and humans in the Amazon) and Australia), "Appeal to poppies» (stop pesticides) ...
Whatever the cause, the goal or the message, each illustration is done with the heart, with my own tastes of what I love in life and with a lot of cheerfulness and warmth grace the bright colors- that I put in my creations. I would say that the biggest goal in my art is to make travel, dream and soothe the people who will come across one of these works."
