" My name is Pauline, I am French, currently based in Auckland in New Zealand.
It is in San Francisco where it all started in 2015, at the end of a trip in the US with my sister, when I walked into this little art gallery, the owner was setting up an exhibition with 20 skateboards. I was completely amazed by the creativity from these different artists! We talked for several hours. He gave me a skateboard store's address where he indicated that I should mention his name; the following day I went and I ended up, coming back to Auckland, with an old board packed on top of my suitcase.
Since that day, I have mostly drawn and painted on boards.
It makes sense for me to use boards as medium. I love the soft touch of the wood and giving them a second life.
Each board is unique and hand-painted, one of kind artwork for wall hanging only. As recycled objects, it is when I clean them, that I discover their 'true' color(s).
My inspirations are my world-travels, New Zealand wildlife & landscapes.
I am also fascinated by street art, I like to discover painted walls in any city that I visit. I lived in London for a year; Brick Lane was the spot to go, when we had free time. I also had the chance to discover a couple of walls in Brussels. New Zealand has also this street art culture with amazing commissioned murals.
Beyond all of that, I am a digital producer, managing 3D artists teams in a Kiwi/New Zealand company working with artificial intelligence. "
