Hey, guess who will be part of the European Custom Board Show this year ? Rafael Van Mulders is a luthier and multi-instrumentalist by training residing in Brussels, Belgium. 

As a true jack-of-all-trades, he founded his label Jug Instruments in 2013 after discovering the Cigar Box Guitar, this makeshift instrument that he elevates to the status of an exceptional instrument. A real open door that combines classical and wild lutherie. 

Rafael has been creating musical instruments from objects such as skateboards, ironing boards, furniture and much more. He regularly collaborates with artists (graffiti artists, illustrators, painters...) to bring an even more singular touch to his instrumental works. 

Rafael is also a musician in the band 'Her Wild Love', a duo formed with his partner and stylist Sarah de Saint-Hubert. He is the guitar technician for well-known Belgian musicians such as Kris Dane and Stef Kamil Carlens. 

For the European Custom Board Show, Rafael has designed unique and exceptional guitars, hand shaped from classic skateboards. No less than 5 guitars will be displayed (and probably played) at the show, including guitars with necks integrated in the skateboard and slide guitars. You will find collaborations with artists like Denis Meyers, Arnaud Kool or Mata7ik (Mathieu Bonte).
